The scope of this project includes planning, design, engineering, preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) to
include ROW mapping, geotechnical investigation, roadway and drainage design, public involvement, and agency coordination.
The
project extends from Veterans SH 35 to FM 1128 on the south side of the City of Pearland in Brazoria County. It includes widening
existing Bailey Road from 2-lanes to 4-lanes from SH 35 approximately 2.9 miles to west of FM 1128; and adding a

$19 million
raised median while accommodating major drainage flows through diversions from adjacent creeks. The roadway improvements include
ROW takings, a major stormwater diversion channel, pipeline crossings, additional turning lanes at TxDOT signalized/controlled intersection
at SH 35, crossing of numerous Drainage District facilities and finally intersecting at FM 1128.
The $19 million project is designed
to TxDOT standards at its two signalized intersections, and the project is planned to be developed as a TxDOT Off-System roadway.
