Completion Date
2005
Project Cost
$14.3 million
The construction consisted of 45 classrooms, a library with a Kiva, new kitchen, gymnasium, cafeteria, playground/park
areas and administrative spaces. Careful coordination with the school district and staff was pivotal in creating an aesthetically
pleasing facility which enhanced the learning experiences of the students. The administration area and clinic, HVAC system,
fire alarm system, automatic fire sprinkler system, and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act were included in this
project. All of the work was accomplished during the summer in order to have the facility available for operation at the start
of the new school year.
The final product is a state-of-the-art new elementary school which meets the growing needs of Lamar
Consolidated School District, complies with all current safety considerations, and allows for additional expansion as the community
grows.
The primary goal of the program was to design and build a new school on new undeveloped campus site.
